7 Thoughts on “Field Trip

There was cancellation at the last minute. Dale could not, within the bounds of privacy, state what the issue was, but the local news could say. Meanwhile, Jeff, Marc, and I had good pizza, beer, and took in NCTC’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Oh, and we found a geocache. It was fun for all.

BTW, Mike, if you haven’t looked into geocaching, you should at least read about it. It might cohabitate with your hiking hobby nicely.

Yes, I apologize again, but as it developed I was right to put you guys off. It was a nightmarish couple of days, and there was no way I could have paid attention to you and Ginny and the swine flu.

But never fear: we can all make the trip next summer.

I dare not speak for marc and Jeff… actually, why not? It’ll be fun. I WILL speak for them… until they correct me… We were all quite certain that you (Dale) would have not cancelled unless things were in fact quite grim. No apologies needed. We were mid-first beer/sweet tea when my cell rang with a call from Becky. One of her friends had just called (thinking I was already in Valdosta) to tell her that all the major Atlanta stations were running the flu story. We all agreed that the evening was quite fun, if not quite as much fun as next year’s Valdosta road trip will be.

  5. At some point you will have to explain to me what exactly geocaching is. I have looked it up and still don’t get it really.

  6. It’s a treasure hunt using GPS.
